Shadow Knights (SK) is a friendly guild of like minded people, and generally speaking we don't tend to need a set of "Guild Rules".
The following rules are set out to help new recruits, who may be unsure or our recruitment policy, or anyone who is unsure of our misconduct/removal from guild procedures.
Joining as a new recruit - All new recruits should make a post on our recruitment forums, and should include details of their character(s), play times, what they would like to achieve in SK, and what they can bring to the guild. Your application will be reviewed by our Officers, and if successful, you will be admitted to the guild on a trial basis, with the SK Trial rank. The trial period is generally 2 weeks, during which time you can be removed without question, if any of your actions/conduct is deemed questionable. If your trial is a success, you will be promoted to SK Social rank, and from there you can progress your career to SK Raid rank and beyond.
Joining via recommendation - Joining via a recommendation from a current member of SK will generally speed up your application. If your application is approved by our Officers, you will be admitted to the guild and promoted directly to SK Social rank.
Rejoining members - Applicants who have previously been in SK, will be dealt with by our Officers on a case by case basis. The circumstances in which you left SK will have a bearing on your application. A decision will be made, and you will be notified of the outcome via one of the SK Officers.
If you decide to leave SK, we would ask that you do so in a curteous manner. That way, if you wish to rejoin in the future, there shouldn't be a problem.
We would ask that if you do decide to leave, you remove all of your character (including alts from the guild).
SK operates a "3 strikes" and your out protocol. If any of your behaviour is deemed to be inappropriate by one of the SK Officers, you will be given "a strike", which is noted in your officer notes within the guild roster. If your receive 3 strikes, you will be removed from the guild without question.
For most people it should be clear what misconduct is. To be honest, if you need us to explain what misconduct is, then SK probably isn't the right place for you, but to give you an idea, we won't tolerate abusive behaviour, griefering, whining, whinging, loot whoring It goes without saying that general idiots need not apply.
You will be removed from the guild if you receive 3 strikes for misconduct (see above), or if it is deemed that any action is severe enough to constitute gross misconduct. If a case of gross misconduct arises, and three of our SK Officers concur that your actions constitute gross misconduct, then you will be removed from the guild (along with all your alts).
Anyone removed from the guild will be given a 1 month ban. During that time, you may not re-apply to join the guild.
If you are removed from the guild on a second occassion (after rejoining), you will be given a permanent ban and will not be eligable to rejoin SK.

Hi Ryan, as I remember you didn't leave on bad terms, and as you say, you were just taking a break.
